About Us

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs Compliance (ORC) was created to enhance oversight of the various research compliance functions at Weill Cornell Medical College in 2006. The ORC has developed policies and procedures to ensure that WCMC remains compliant with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. We believe that the strength of compliance at WCMC must be rooted in our institutional culture. With this in mind, we organized the Research Compliance Advisory Committee to bring together members of our faculty, staff, and administration to dialogue and further enhance WCMC's ability to meet its compliance responsibilities. The RCAC is further divided into three subgroups.

  • Subgroup 1 focuses on compliance standards at the central administrative level.
  • Subgroup 2 focuses on research compliance education and communication.
  • Subgroup 3 focuses on providing infrastructure of Departmental functions that will facilitate compliance.

Additionally, the Executive Research Compliance Team which is composed of the Vice Dean for Research, Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs, Chief Operating Officer, University Auditor, WCMC Counsel, and the Assistant Dean for Research Compliance, meets often to implement recommendations made by the RCAC. Indeed, ours is a cooperative and multifaceted organizational approach to compliance.
