Dr.Agrawal's research has been multi-faceted. His early work dealt with the "Distribution, secretion and properties of Exopeptidases in Male Reproductive Organs", including the study of reproductive enzymes and their impact on sperm mobility. He subsequently specialized in laboratory medicine in Finland, following which his research interests shifted to Gene Therapy of Human Stem Cells using pseudotyped retroviral vectors as well as the establishment of the banking of cord blood in Kuopio, Finland. In recent times he has worked with proteomic techniques to characterize proteins in serum and in cancer tissues. His current interests lie in clinical diagnostic testing and laboratory management.
