Biography
Dr. Silverman has been working in the Department of Ophthalmology of the Weill Cornell Medical College since 1983. His academic title is Professor of Computer Science in Ophthalmology. Dr. Silvermans research interests primarily involve high-resolution ultrasound imaging, tissue characterization, bioeffects, ultrasound-enhanced drug delivery and acoustic-optical interactions. His interdisciplinary work ranges from basic engineering to preclinical and clinical studies.
Dr. Silverman is a Fellow of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, is a member of the Program Committees of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the International Society for Imaging in the Eye. He is a member of the IEEE, SPIE, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the International Neural Network Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
