Dr. Robert Young is Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He is an Attending in Psychiatry at the New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Young has contributed to assessment methodology in bipolar disorder. His longstanding research interest is in optimizing the pharmacotherapeutic management of elders with severe mood disorders. He has received consistent research support from the National Institutes of Health. Currently he is Principal Investigator of "Geri-BD", a multi-center study of the treatment of geriatric patients with bipolar disorders. Dr. Young is actively involved in teaching medical students, psychiatry residents, and postgraduate fellows in geriatric psychiatry, and in mentoring young investigators in geropsychiatry.
