Research Overview
Patrick J. Raue, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry, Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Dr. Raue conducts research at the NIMH-supported Advanced Center for Interventions Research (ACISR, P 30) on patient preferences and shared decision-making for depression treatment; the effectiveness of psychotherapy among older adults; and suicidal ideation. Dr. Raue has a Career Development Award (K23) from The National Institute of Mental Health focused on patient preference in primary care depression treatment. Dr. Raue has served as the trainer and supervisor of diagnostic and clinical assessment procedures for the ACISR's research studies. Dr. Raue has expertise in developing partnerships and conducting research in community agencies, and in the development and implementation of care management and other psychosocial interventions. Dr. Raue is an investigator on several other ACISR studies including Dr. Martha Bruce's IP-RISP (R24) on late life depression in homecare, where he co-developed the TRIAD training program on nurse assessment of depression, and on Dr. George Alexopoulos' intervention studies to improve antidepressant adherence among depressed COPD patients; to investigate the efficacy of Problem Solving Therapy (PST) versus Supportive Psychotherapy among depressed elders with executive dysfunction; and to investigate Problem Solving Therapy and case management with older adults receiving home delivered meals.
