In vivo Optical Imaging, Epilepsy, Mild Traumatic Brain Injury, Attention Deficits
 

My research at Weill Medical College of Cornell University aims at developing an innovative, distinctive and highly collaborative translational and computational neuroscience research projects that can aid to prevent, diagnose and treat neurological diseases and to better understand human brain functions.

From years of studies and researches in Physics, Biomedical Engineering and System Neuroscience, I have acquired rich experiences in many different disciplines of neuroscience research including computational modeling, system neurophysiology, in vivo imaging, and clinical neuroscience. Based on these experiences, I have been developing interdisciplinary translational and computational neuroscience researches at Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

My current research areas include:
1. Linking high spatial and temporal resolution optical imaging, perfusion, oximetry signal and neuronal activity;
2. Visualizing direct cortical simulation in the intact brain and developing a novel way to enhance cerebral blood flow and cortical function;
3. Treating epilepsy with progenitor cells transplantation and tracking progenitor cells migration using in vivo imaging with nanotechnology; and
4. Developing new ways to measure changes in dynamic state of attention and brain integrity.

The likelihood of success of each of these research projects will depend on the ability to bridge our knowledge from system neuroscience with engineering, as well as strong collaborations among interdisciplinary investigators. Advances in these researches will provide not only better understanding of basic mechanisms of brain function but also novel ways to treat various neurological conditions.
