Dr. Borg earned her undergraduate degree at Barnard College, and received her medical degree from New York Medical College. Her internship was in Internal Medicine at the Kaiser-Permanente Medical Center, and her residency was in Psychiatry at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Borg is a Clinical Instructor in the Substance Abuse Division of the Department of Public Health at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. She is also a Clinical Instructor and attending physician on the voluntary faculty of the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in the Departments of Psychiatry and General Internal Medicine.

Dr. Borg is a Senior Research Associate in the Laboratory of The Biology of Addictive Diseases under Dr. Mary Jeanne Kreek at The Rockefeller University, and an associate physician The Rockefeller University Hospital.

Dr. Borg's research interests focus on biological correlates of addiction including infectious diseases, differences in neuroendocrine responses and also genetic factors associated with addiction, and pharmacotherapy of addictive diseases.
