Honors and Awards
Dr. Liou has served several leading roles and received many honors in her professional and personal life. She served as the class president and graduated summa cum laude from National Taiwan University in 1981. She also awarded the Highest Honor in a national certification examination in 1981 and a prestigious Government Scholarship Award of Biotechnology for Overseas Study in 1984.
Other scholarships and honors awarded to Dr. Liou included the Cancer Research Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship (1990-1993), the Basil O'Connor Scholar by March of Dimes Foundation (1996-1998), Junior Faculty Research Award by American Cancer Society (1996-1998), Charles Offin Charitable Trust Award (1996-1998), Irma Hirschl/Monique Weill-Caulier Career Scientist Awards (1998-2003), First Prize winner for the Medicine Investigator Award sponsored by the Michael Wolk Heart Foundation (2000), Dorothy Rodbell Cohen Foundation for Cancer Research (2004-2005), and the Scholar Award by Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (2000-2005). She has served as a reviewer for many scientific journals and as ad hoc reviewer for NIH study sections. She is a member of AAAS, American Association of Immunologists, and Harvey Society, and the editor for the book entitled NF-kB Transcription Factor Family.
