Each month the Research and Sponsored Programs (RASP) office compiles a list of specific funding opportunities which may be of interest to the WMC community. Since these listings are published approximately two months prior to the anticipated application deadlines, this information is subject to change. All completed applications are due in the RASP office 7 working days prior to the agency deadline date. Applications must be submitted with a signed routing form and a second copy of the application for the RASP files.

Above, you can view potential sources of funding by deadline date or by searching for a particular agency or word. In the list of months, there is one called "Open" which contains programs accepting applications throughout the year. These listings are updated monthly so be sure to check them each time you visit this site.

In addition to this monthly listing, the RASP office sends out a broadcast email each week with important NIH opportunities, late breaking news, and foundation program announcements. WMC also subscribes to two organizations which provide access to Funding Opportunity Databases.

You can search the IRIS Database at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. If you have any questions about a listing published here, contact the RASP office: 425 E. 61st Street, Room# 223, 212-821-0959, rasp@med.cornell.edu.

NIH Modular Budgets

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is expanding its use of the Modular Grant Application and Award. In modular grant applications, total direct costs not exceeding $250,000 per year will be requested in $25,000 increments instead of being compiled from detailed and separate budget categories.

Beginning with the June 1, 1999 receipt date, modular application, review, and award procedures will apply to all competing individual research project grants (R01), small grants (R03), and exploratory/developmental grants (R21).

Unsolicited, investigator-initiated applications requesting more than $250,000 in any year and applications for grant activities not specified above will be required to follow the traditional application instructions and applicable NIH policies.
