Grants.Gov Training
RASP is providing training sessions for investigators and administrators who are preparing competing (new, renewal, resubmission, or revision) grant applications that must be submitted electronically through Grants.gov for deadlines in October, November, and December.* In the training sessions, Bess Jensen will explain and demonstrate the procedures and forms necessary for Grants.gov electronic submission using PureEdge software. We encourage anyone who will prepare PureEdge applications for Grants.gov submission in October through December to attend.
The majority of Grants.gov applications are currently prepared using PureEdge software. The training sessions described in this message will cover the PureEdge application process. NIH is planning to switch from PureEdge to Adobe Reader application packages by January 1, 2009. Once NIH's plans are firm RASP will schedule training sessions that will cover the Adobe application process. If you must complete an Adobe application package before we begin providing Adobe classes, please contact Bess Jensen (eaj2002@med.cornell.edu) and she will work with you individually. For more information on Adobe application packages: http://www.med.cornell.edu/research/gra_con/adobe_app_pack.html
To provide an opportunity for hands-on learning, the training sessions will be in the Samuel J. Wood library computer room. Space is limited, please contact Simone Becque at 212-821-0959 or sdb2006@med.cornell.edu to make your reservation immediately. On a later date, training sessions will be scheduled for those submitting competing applications due January 1 and later.

Friday, September 19, 10:00am-12:30pm
Thursday, September 25 10:00am-12:30pm
Note for Mac Users:
During the final 30 minutes of the training sessions there will be an in-depth demonstration and discussion for Mac users on using a WMC Citrix server to complete Grants.gov application packages. PureEdge is a windows-only product, so Mac users must use the Citrix solution until a new platform-independent Adobe product is made available by the Federal Government. If you attended a Grants.gov training session in the past and would like to learn about the WMC Citrix server, please join us for the final 30 minutes of the training. If you have not attended a Grants.gov training session in the past, please attend for the entire 2 1/2 hours.
