Research Overview
Our laboratory focuses on developing new MR image contrasts that can be used to diagnose pathology in a quantitative manner. We mainly use the incoherent motion of water molecules inside the tissue as a probe that investigates the tissue micro-structure using MR diffusion tensor imaging. We are combining the structural information supplied by MRI with the functional information supplied by MRS, fMRI, MRDTI to not only diagnose pathology but also investigate disease progression mechanisms.
