Perspectives on the Changing Healthcare System

The Department of Public Health offers a required course for senior year medical residents called Perspectives on the Changing Healthcare Systems (POCHS). The course is funded by the Department of Medicine and is directed by Oliver Fein, M.D., Professor of Clinical Medicine and Clinical Public Health. In addition to the essentials of managed care, topics covered include health economics, quality measurement in health care, decision analysis, utilization management, and medical malpractice. Several two-week rotations are offered throughout the year.
