Fellowship in Addiction Medicine

Fellowship in Addiction Medicine

The Department of Public Health sponsors a fellowship program in Addiction Medicine. The program is open to internists and psychiatrists who have completed their residency training. Participants are offered the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the evaluation and treatment of substance abuse disorders and to develop the groundwork to do research in the field. Fellows also teach psychiatry residents, physician assistant students, and medical students. Depending on their interests and areas of expertise, they may provide and work to improve primary and specialty care of patients at the Adult Services Center, the Adolescent Development Program, and the Midtown Treatment Center. In addition, their work may include research and treatment of the sequelae of chemical dependencies, including hepatitis C and osteoporosis.
