Health Policy
This division studies the efficient and equitable allocation of scarce health care resources, focusing on health care technology assessment and comparative effectiveness, disparities in treatment and preventive care, financing and reimbursement, and incentives for implementation of evidence-based practice.
Areas of research include cost-effectiveness and feasibility of diagnosing and treating HIV and hepatitis C; payment and performance evaluation policies that create incentives for primary care and other medical providers to adopt depression care quality improvement; evaluation of outcomes in total joint replacements; cost-effectiveness of buprenorphine treatment for opioid dependency; economic and implementation evaluation of programs to diagnose and treat HIV and syphilis in Haiti; and implementation of a cervical and breast cancer treatment program in India.Contact information:
