Funding Opportunities

The ability to write a fundable grant is critical for postdocs who will be seeking faculty positions. This is a skill that needs to be learned and practiced, just as any other laboratory skill. The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs will be working in the coming year to develop a course for postdocs on grant writing that will become a part of postdoctoral training at WMC.

For those of you who are seeking funding opportunities, the following two websites enable you to specify the types of grants and eligibility requirements you need. This is especially valuable for international postdocs who are excluded from many government and private fellowships.

www.egrants.net - When you register with this website you will receive periodic notification of grants with the eligibility requirements you specify.

www.Grantsnet.org - This is a free service supported by HHMI and AAAS which provides advice and resources to find funds for training in the sciences.
