MD-PhD Students Win Big at the 2005 Vincent du Vigneaud Memorial Symposium



  Gaorav P. Gupta won the 2005 Vincent du Vigneaud Prize for his work titled "Genes that Mark and Mediate Breast Cancer Metastasis to Lung." Mr. Gupta is completing his fifth year in the Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program and is working in the laboratory of Dr. Joan Massague at the Sloan-Kettering Institute.

Michael A. Seidman
  Meera Mani and Michael A. Seidman won the 2005 Vincent du Vigneaud Awards of Excellence. Ms. Mani is completing her fourth year of the Program in the laboratory of Dr. Timothy Ryan at the Weill Cornell Medical College. Her award winning research is titled "Defective Endocytosis of Synaptic Vesicles in Neurons of Mice Lacking Synaptojanin 1." Mr. Seidman is also completing his fourth year of the Program. He is in the laboratory of Dr. William Muller (an alumnus of the Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program) at Weill Cornell Medical College. Mr. Seidman's award is for his research titled "A Genetic Locus Associated with PECAM-Independent Inflammation."
