*MD-PhD applicants are strongly encouraged to complete their applications early. Items that typically hold an application from achieving a complete status include letters of recommendation and the medical college's secondary form. Access to the medical college's secondary form is only emailed to applicants whose applications are verified by AMCAS.

Successful applicants will have excellent undergraduate science preparation, substantial undergraduate research experience and a strong commitment to combining an investigative career in the biomedical sciences with clinical medicine.

Because of the increasing diversity of the United States population, the national need for physician-investigators who are members of under-represented minority and/or disadvantaged groups is acute. The Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program, therefore encourages applications from under-represented minority and/or disadvantaged students.

All applicants must satisfy the requirements of both the medical and graduate components of the Program. After initial screening, selected candidates will be invited to attend one of the Program's interview days where they will meet selected faculty within the Program.

Full Financial support

All MD-PhD students receive a stipend (currently $24,750-$29,000 depending on the year in the Program), a full tuition waiver for every year in the program, up to a $3,000 lab supplement and health and dental insurance. In addition, any student who writes and is awarded his/her own fellowship, may be eligible for a $5,000 stipend supplement (certain restrictions apply).

MD-PhD Applications

The Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program Interview Days for the 2009 applicants will be: Friday, October 31, 2008 and Friday, November 21, 2008. If you are applying to the Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program, you are strongly encouraged to keep these dates open on your calendar, until you hear from us regarding a final decision. As we only have two Interview Days, rescheduling is discouraged.
