ITS is pleased to announce the launch of the laptop encryption service

Due to the risk of theft or loss, this service is mandatory and available at no additional charge to all Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC) faculty, staff, and students using ITS tagged - laptops.
Currently, this service is only available for Windows users due to technical limitations. In the near future, we plan to include Mac users. For more information, please see the complete laptop encryption policy. There are 3 ways to encrypt your laptop:

When you add a new laptop to the network by tagging it, ITS will automatically encrypt the laptop unless it meets the exemption criteria.
Fill out the ‘Encrypt My Laptop’ form below and submit it to ITS. You will be contacted to arrange a time to perform the encryption. You should consider taking advantage of this option as soon as possible if you have high-risk data on your laptop, such as social security numbers, health or medical information, financial information, research information, etc.

Departments will be contacted in order of priority to arrange encryption of all laptops. When your department is contacted, your department administrator will give you more information about when and where you can have your laptop encrypted.
