Training

Training is an important component of an overall effective environmental health and safety program. Environmental Health and Safety provides many forms of instruction for the Weill Cornell Medical College community.

Review the instructor-led training schedule for descriptions, times and locations of training. To register for a training course, go to the registration page. To provide input about EHS training you have experienced, complete a Training Evaluation Form .

Initial student training is coordinated by various individuals at WCMC. See the student training list for more specific information. Student refresher training may be completed with the regularly scheduled instructor-led courses or self-instruction courses.

Refresher training may be completed by re-taking the appropriate instructor-led course or by completing a self-instruction refresher course. The following self-instruction refresher courses are currently available:

• Laboratory Safety (Chemical Hygiene Plan / Bloodborne Pathogens Plan) Refresher
• Clinical and General Safety Refresher (clinical staff also working in labs only need to take the Lab Safety refresher)

See the Training Records page to view training records for the past year. This page is useful to determine when refresher training needs to be completed.

Training Certificates (click here for example) are available for training taught be EHS after the training has been provided.
