If you are offered an interview, we will notify you by e-mail. The message indicates a date and time. If you are able to come at this time, please confirm as soon as possible by telephone, fax or email. If you are unable to come at this time, we are happy to arrange alternative times by telephone or email.
If you live at a distance from New York City, we will try to schedule your interview at a time convenient to you - while you will be in the area, for example. When necessary and feasible, we will also find a current student to be your host overnight.
On the day of the interview, please plan to stay for all scheduled activities, which occupy most of the day. The day's activities will include:
- An information meeting with the Associate or Assistant Dean for Admissions
- A tour of the medical school
- Meetings and lunch with medical students
- Two interviews with members of the Committee on Admissions. The interviews, scheduled for 30 minutes each, are designed to provide you with an opportunity to discuss your decision to pursue a career in medicine, your preparation for medical school, and your life interests and experiences.
