Clinical Trials: Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis
Dr. Ronald Crystal has been a pioneer in the understanding of the pathogenesis of interstitial lung disease (ILD), has had over 30 years of experience in caring for patients with ILD, and performs consultations for patients from all over the world. In 2005, Dr. Robert Kaner received an NIH-sponsored grant for Cornell’s Pulmonary Division to be a part of the Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Clinical Research Network. As part of this project, our division will be developing state-of-the-art clinical research studies for patients with IPF and will be participating in randomized multi-center trials to evaluate new therapies for the treatment of IPF. The division has an active outpatient center devoted to the diagnosis and care of patients with interstitial lung disease.
