Department of Surgery Labs Open House

Dr. Fabrizio Michelassi (center), chairman of the Department of Surgery, conducts a tour of the new Surgery Research Laboratory in the A Building for biomedical engineers from Cornell University in Ithaca. More than 50 faculty members and guests attended the Feb. 1 open house, including Weill Cornell Medical College faculty and faculty from the Biomedical Engineering Department at Cornell University.

Alice Harper, a senior research specialist in surgery, and medical student Sunil Singh demonstrate a piece of the lab's equipment. The new 4,000-square-foot lab includes state-of-the-art technology and will increase the Department of Surgery's translational research.
