Dr. Levi, a native of Florence, Italy, who has been a resident of New York City for more than 30 years, was inspired to paint by the aesthetics of her surroundings. In her work, Dr. Levi, who visits Florence on a regular basis, states, "I consider imagination central in my life and my painting." In her work, she focuses on the edge between the natural world and pure abstraction.
A major exhibition of Dr. Levi's work was held at the Pananti Gallery in Florence in 1993, accompanied by a 58-page illustrated catalog published by Edizioni Pananti in Florence. A second exhibition of 26 paintings was held at the Weill Graduate School of Medical Sciences in 1995 and 1996. Dr. Levi's work is included in important collections in Florence, Rome, London, and New York City.

Known for its wide range of both historical European works on paper and contemporary American drawings and sculpture, the Munroe gallery was established in 1981 in New York City. It was since moved to Boston, where it focuses on the art and history of drawing techniques on paper.
