At the highest levels, the WCMC promotes and supports close collaborations to enhance translational research between the two campuses (New York City and Ithaca). The University and its Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC) are launching a $4 billion capital campaign — the largest for Cornell, and the second largest goal in the history of higher education — to advance discovery, education and public service, and to make transformative contributions in areas of critical social importance. Over $1 billion ($1,030 million) in gifts and pledges already committed, putting the iniversity well on its way to realizing this bright vision.
The fostering of bi-campus research and educational interactions has been accomplished over the years through the Cornell Linkage Program to facilitate housing and daily transportation between campuses. In addition to many direct interactions, interactive video teleconferencing, internet and e-course technologies are utilized to facilitate joint activities and learning. This has been particularly successful with our K-30 Masters Program in Clinical Investigation.
