The Center is at the heart of the effort to identify effective botanical therapies and mind-body approaches to medicine and contrast them to those found ineffective or even potentially dangerous. This work is urgent. Every day, millions of people in the US and other countries, routinely use complementary therapies, either because they provide an alternative to costlier conventional medicine or are attractive given cultural beliefs and personal experiences. Yet of the strategies, little is known about what works.
