Fellowship Awards
The Center was recently awarded two new Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) fellowship awards funded by the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM). This fellowship program trains post-residency physicians in complementary approaches that may be useful in the prevention and treatment of chronic illnesses and integrated with conventional medicine. This two-year program focuses on conceptual, methodological and practical foundations to conduct methodologically rigorous research in complementary and integrative medicine. The curriculum emphasizes the evaluation of natural products (botanicals, herbal and other bio-organic extracts) and psychobiological mind-body medicine (meditation, social support, guided imagery, spirituality, yoga, T'ai Chi, and aerobic exercise).
Applications for July 2007, including a CV, a personal statement, and the names of three individuals whom you have asked for reference letters are being accepted at this time.
The program is open to physicians who have completed an accredited residency training program in any clinical area. The program is open to United States Citizens
and non-citizen nationals of the United States. Applicants should be committed to pursuing a research career. We encourage physicians from a broad spectrum of cultural
backgrounds to apply.
