Medical Oncology
Weill Cornell oncologists offer state-of-the-art treatment for patients in need of stem cell transplants, or those with:- Solid tumors
- Lymphoma
- Hodgkin's Disease
- Multiple myeloma
- Leukemia and bone marrow failure
Patients with cancer can expect Weill Cornell physicians to offer individualized treatment based on a team approach for the treatment of all cancers including breast, urologic, gynecologic, thoracic, and gastrointestinal cancers, as well as cancers of the head and neck.
The team is led by expert, world renown medical oncologists, who work closely with specialized nurses, pharmacists, dieticians, social workers, laboratory scientists, and physicians from other disciplines, including surgery, pathology, diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine, radiation oncology, psychiatry, and pain management.
Hematology
Weill Cornell's teams of specialists in hematology offer the latest therapies for the treatment of a wide range of congenital and acquired blood disorders, such as:- Anemias
- Neutropenias
- Thrombocytopenias and thrombocytosis
- Vascular diseases
- Coagulation disorders (including hemophilia)
- Sickle cell disease
- Thalassemia
In addition, our hematologists work together with physicians in other areas to offer specialized treatment of pediatric hemophilia, vascular disease (such as venous thrombosis and atherosclerosis), threatened limb loss, non-healing limb ulcers, and stroke.
